McMenamin will explain that often dreams are buried beneath childhood wounds. With refreshing transparency, she will share how her dream of becoming a writer nearly died when a teacher told her she couldn’t write. Though she earned A’s in Advanced English and was editor of the school newspaper, he told her she was “a classic example of the low standards in the state’s public educational system.” Heeding discouragement from others, listening to fears and doubts in the form of negative self–talk, and allowing the Enemy to thwart our efforts are common “dream destroyers.” With compassion, McMenamin will introduce a step–by–step plan to help women discover their dream. She will emphasize that past mistakes do not prohibit future successes, because nothing is beyond the saving, redeeming, restoring hand of God. He longs to guide us into fulfilling our purpose. As we respond in obedience, he prepares our heart and challenges us to launch our dream by using the 3–D approach—discernment, discipline, and determination.
